UniBank Opens Branch in Shrewsbury

UniBank is pleased to announce that it has opened its newest full-service branch at 193 Boston Turnpike in the new Lakeway Commons plaza (at the former site of Spag’s) in Shrewsbury.

The new Shrewsbury UniBank branch is a full-service branch providing personal banking, business banking, and investment services. A coin machine and night drop provide added convenience to customers. In addition, the branch features an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM). UniBank’s ITM features all the benefits of a traditional ATM, PLUS the added convenience of connecting with a live Customer Contact Center Representative during Customer Contact Center hours.

In his remarks during the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new branch, UniBank President and CEO Sam S. Pepper, Jr. announced that UniBank has committed $50,000 in contributions to the Shrewsbury community through charitable giving during 2017/2018.

Mr. Pepper went on to announce that the first $11,000 in support is being dedicated to a unique Community Giving Program. The bank has identified 8 worthy Shrewsbury community organizations to be a part of its Community Giving program. Members of the community are asked to come to UniBank’s Shrewsbury branch to vote for the organizations of their choosing.

The top three organizations receiving the most votes will receive top awards. First place will receive $5,000, second place will receive $2,500, and third place will receive $1,000. All organizations that do not receive first, second or third place donations will all receive $500. Organizations selected include: Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, Shrewsbury Public Library, Lake Quinsigamond Commisson, St. Anne’s Human Services, Special Olympics, Veterans Inc., Thom Worcester Area Early Intervention, and Shrewsbury Council on Aging.

“We’re a community bank that has been serving the region for more than 147 years,” stated Sam S. Pepper, Jr., UniBank President and CEO. “We are excited to invite the public to our branch in support of these organizations and the Shrewsbury community.”

In celebration of the opening of its 14th branch, several special offers are available for new and existing customers including premium rates on home equity lines of credit, CD and Checking specials, and Fast Track Loans and Money Market specials for businesses. There is also a raffle for a Shrewsbury Gift Basket containing gift cards redeemable at local merchant locations valued at $2,000. (See branch for official rules.)
