How do I add my debit card to Samsung Pay?
To add your UniBank Visa Debit Card to Samsung Pay, open the Samsung Pay app, then tap the plus sign. From there, take a picture of the card or enter your card information manually and follow the prompts.  On the last page, note that you will need to call UniBank to complete the authorization process.

Is Samsung Pay compatible with my device?

Samsung Pay requires a Samsung S7, S7 Active, S7 Edge, S6, S6 Active, S6 Edge, Note5 or Note7.

Why am I being asked by UniBank to verify my card?
This is a required security step to ensure you are the actual cardholder. Simply click the Call button to contact UniBank so we can verify your identity. Then look for a secure email message letting you know that your card is ready for Samsung Pay.

What is a virtual card?
Virtual cards are the digital form of your physical debit card. When you add your card to Samsung Pay, it is stored as a virtual card. It will have a unique virtual card number that is only associated with Samsung Pay.

What is a Virtual Account Number?
Samsung refers to the digital form of your debit card as the Virtual Account Number.  Review the question “What is a virtual card?” for more info.

Will merchants receive my physical card number?
Merchants won’t have access to your card number; they’ll receive the unique virtual card number associated with your debit card.

How do I pay with my phone?
Paying with Samsung Pay at participating merchants is simple. You may need to open the app or wake your phone up. Then simply hold your phone near the reader.  A vibration and beep will let you know that your payment was successfully completed.

Will all merchants accept Samsung Pay?
The great majority will!  Merchants that support NFC contactless payments will display the contactless payment symbol.  However, Samsung Pay also works with most terminals that cannot support NFC contactless payments. However, you should continue to carry your physical cards to use where Samsung Pay is not accepted.

Does Samsung Pay show my UniBank debit card transactions?
Samsung Pay displays the last 10 purchases you made with Samsung Pay on your phone, with the merchant, date, time and amount. For a complete view of all your UniBank debit transactions, sign in to Online Banking or use our Mobile Banking App and select the appropriate account.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

You can use the Find My Mobile app to locate your phone, lock it or even erase it.  If you know the phone is not retrievable, contact UniBank to cancel your debit card which will delete your virtual card from Samsung Pay. You should also review your Online & Mobile Banking transactions. If you notice any suspicious activity, please contact UniBank immediately.
