UniBank, the largest mutually-owned Community Bank headquartered in Central Massachusetts, plans to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of The United States of America with Community-Focused Initiatives.
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, UniBank is proud to announce a series of community initiatives honoring the nation’s founding while reaffirming the bank’s deep-rooted commitment to local prosperity, civic engagement, and the enduring values that have shaped both the country and the communities UniBank serves. Such initiatives include UniBank sponsored community fireworks, UniBank providing (12) $2,500 Grants to public libraries to support educational programs on June 26th at Polar Park in Worcester before the Worcester Red Sox game, decorated branches, and Patriotic themed giveaways from each UniBank branch location.
“The 250th anniversary of America is more than a historical marker—it’s a moment to reflect on who we are and recommit ourselves to what comes next,” said Ed Augustus, CEO of UniBank. “As a community bank, UniBank has always believed that strong local institutions are essential to a strong democracy. This celebration gives us the opportunity to honor our shared history and double down on our promise to support the people, businesses, and organizations that make our communities thrive.”
Augustus emphasized that UniBank’s role extends beyond banking services. “For generations, banks like UniBank have helped fuel the American story by empowering individuals to buy their first homes, entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, and communities to build lasting infrastructure,” he said. “Celebrating America at 250 reminds us that progress happens when institutions stay grounded in service, trust, and long-term responsibility.”
“At its core, this anniversary is about people,” Augustus added. “UniBank is honored to stand alongside our communities as we celebrate America’s past and help shape a strong, inclusive future for the next generation.”
