UniBank Recognizes Summer Interns

Date Posted: August 30, 2018

UniBank's Inaugural Summer Intern Program

This summer, UniBank welcomed four of its Seasonal/Part-Time Tellers to take part in the bank's inaugural Summer College Internship Program. The program, coordinated by UniBank's Training & Development Manager, Heather Kicelemos, allowed the interns to integrate knowledge and theory learned in their college classrooms to contribute to bank projects. The interns gained valuable applied experience and made connections in the fields they are considering for their career path.

Each intern was paired with a mentor in their respective field of interest which included Finance/Accounting, Marketing, Retail Branch Administration, and Information Technology. They worked closely with their mentors on assignments and projects. While completing the designated assignments, the interns were included in department and committee meetings as well as financial education presentations focused on credit/credit scores and budgeting, encouraged to interview members of the Senior Leadership Team and provided networking opportunities with other departments throughout UniBank.

“I had the pleasure of working with all of these folks in their new employee teller classroom training, so it is quite exciting to see them continue their learning experience with us,” commented Heather Kicelemos, Training & Development Manager at UniBank. “We also learned a great deal from our interns and have heard from them all that this was a valuable learning experience.  We wish our interns well as they start the new school year and into their professional careers. UniBank would be lucky to have that choice be with us"
