Timothy P. Wickstrom Named Chairman of The Board of UFS Bancorp

UFS Bancorp is parent company of UniBank, Sterling Associates, UniBank Fiscal Advisory Services, Inc. and Dimen Financial Group, Inc.

At its monthly meeting held on June 28, 2005, the board of directors of UFS Bancorp (the company) elected Timothy P. Wickstrom as chairman of the Board of Directors of UFS Bancorp and its subsidiaries, effective July 1, 2005.  As chairman, Mr. Wickstrom is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of the Board, and also for working with bank management to implement policies, procedures and directives of the Board.

Mr. Wickstrom became a corporator of UFS Bancorp in 1992, was elected to the Board of Directors in 1997 and became a member of the company’s Executive Committee in 2000.  He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the company’s subsidiary, UniBank Fiscal Advisory Services, Inc. (UFASI), since its establishment in July of 1999.

UFS Bancorp, with assets in excess of $620 million, is the parent company of UniBank, a full-service, mutual community savings bank with seven offices in the Blackstone Valley; UFASI, a subsidiary that provides a full spectrum of debt management services to towns, school districts and other government units; Sterling Associates, a bank service company that originates marine and manufactured housing loans for client lenders; and the most recently acquired Dimen Marine Financial Inc., a California-based marine and recreational vehicle loan originator.

Mr. Wickstrom is a partner in the law firm of Tashjian, Simsarian & Wickstrom, located in Worcester and Whitinsville, since 1985.  Previous employment included Nutter, McClennen & Fish, Boston, where he was an associate, and he served as law clerk to the Honorable Francis P. O’Connor of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.  He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of America School of Law in Washington, DC, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross and is also a graduate of St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury.

Mr. Wickstrom is a lifelong resident of Whitinsville, where he lives with his wife Helena and six children.  He is on the Board of Trustees at St. John’s High School and also serves as the board’s counsel.  In addition, he is on the Board of Governors at Our Lady of the Valley Regional School in Uxbridge, a corporator for the Milford Regional Healthcare System, and a corporator for the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester.
