UniBank Employees Were "Costumed For A Cure" On Halloween, employees at five UniBank locations collected monetary donations for “Costumed For A Cure” to support the Massachusetts Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Employees in Whitinsville dressed in a variety of different costumes, Upton dressed as Patriot fans, Douglas had an angels and devils theme, Blackstone employees were characters from the board game “Clue” and the Sutton branch decorated the branch with festive Halloween decor. Customers “cast their votes” for the best costume by donating money in canisters for the costume of their choice. The top three UniBank tellers who collected the most money were The funds raised through “Costumed For A Cure” support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has made great strides in research on blood-related cancers. The survival rate for patients has tripled in the last 40 years. However, leukemia remains the number one disease killer of children, and affects ten times more adults. The Massachusetts Chapter supports programs of research, patient aid, advocacy and education throughout Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
