UniBank Announces 2008 Concert Series

UniBank is proud to announce a series of Community Concerts and events sponsored by the bank and held throughout the Blackstone Valley and Central Massachusetts. The events are free and the public is invited to attend:

Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Hopedale Town Park. The rain date for this event is Sunday, June 29, 2008.

Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Route 66 will be performing at UniBank’s 2nd Annual Community Appreciation Day at UniBank’s main branch, 49 Church Street in Whitinsville.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Leicester Town Common.

Friday, July 4, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. the Small Planet Band will be performing at Capron Park in Uxbridge. The Blackstone Valley Fife and Drum will perform during breaks. The concert is part of the Uxbridge First Holiday Night Committee’s 2nd Annual “Fire on the Falls” event. Festivities for the night include a clown, a stilt walker, food and other activities.

Monday, July 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at Choate Park in Medway. The rain date for this event is Tuesday, July 8, 2008.

Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge.

Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Whitinsville Town Common. The rain location for this event is the Singh Performance Center at Alternatives.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Grafton Town Common. The rain location for the event is the Grafton Municipal Building.

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Second Congregational Church in Douglas. The rain date for this event is Thursday, August 7, 2008.

Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Sutton Town Common.

Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at Daniels Farmstead in Blackstone.

The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will perform in Douglas in October. The date, time and location of this event are to be determined.

The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band is a well known local group. There are over 50 band members from throughout the Blackstone Valley.  They will be performing a wide variety of selections ranging from old time music to rock ‘n’ roll including patriotic songs, polkas, marches and show tunes. 

Route 66 is a classic rock band consisting of 5 players and an additional sound engineer/manager.  The band is based in and historically has performed throughout Central and Southeastern Massachusetts and also the Northwestern portion of Connecticut at clubs, campgrounds and private/public functions.  They will be performing rock ‘n’ roll hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and more.
