UniBank Announces 2007 Concert Series UniBank is proud to announce ten Summer and Autumn Community Concerts sponsored by the bank and held throughout the Blackstone Valley. The events are free and the public is invited to attend: Friday, June 8, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Carillon Women’s Chorus will be performing at the Blackstone Public Library. The Rhode Island Children’s Chorus Chamber Group will also perform with the group. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Hopedale Town Park. The rain date for this event is Thursday, June 21, 2007. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the American Legion in Manchaug. The rain date for this event is Sunday, July 15, 2007. Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing on the Whitinsville Town Common. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing on the Sutton Town Common. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Brass will be performing at the VFW Post 5594 in Upton. The Uxbridge First Holiday Night Committee will provide snacks and light refreshments at this event compliments of UniBank. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at Soldier’s Memorial Park in Millville. The rain date for this event is Thursday, September 6, 2007. Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at the Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge. Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band will be performing at Daniel’s Farmstead in Blackstone. Kenneth J. Redding, UniBank president and chief executive officer said, “UniBank supports the arts and providing these concerts to the residents of the Blackstone Valley is an excellent way of meeting our community-based mission and contributing to the overall quality of life in the Blackstone Valley.” The Carillon Women’s Chorus is a group of singers from the Northern Rhode Island and Blackstone areas. The chorus, which has been together for 18 years, performs a variety of music including classical, gospel and popular music selections. Special guests are the award-winning Rhode Island Children’s Chorus Chamber Group, featuring children ranging from ages 8 to 16. The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band is a local group that is well known by their performances in the Blackstone Valley. There are over 50 band members from throughout the Blackstone Valley. They will be performing a wide variety of selections ranging from old time music to rock ‘n’ roll including, patriotic songs, polkas, marches, show tunes and more. The Blackstone Valley Brass is a mixed brass quintet including two trumpets, one French horn and one tuba, and its members are also a part of The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band. |
