William M. Mahoney Joins UniBank as CFO

James F. Paulhus, president and CEO of UniBank has announced that William M. Mahoney has joined UniBank as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). In his new position, Mr. Mahoney is responsible for all financial management and accounting for the bank.

Mr. Mahoney has over 30 years financial management experience in the banking industry. Most recently he was the CFO of Commonwealth National Bank in Worcester since its inception in 2001. Prior to his career with Commonwealth National Bank, he held a financial management position with BankBoston Corporation in Boston. He was the CFO of Mechanics Bank in Worcester from 1981 until its acquisition by Bank of Boston in 1994 and he was the director of financial planning at City Federal Savings and Loan Association in New Jersey preceding 1981.

Mr. Mahoney is a graduate of Providence College and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Connecticut. In addition, he completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and is a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Mahoney is a resident of Auburn, MA where he lives with his wife Flo. They have four adult children.
