Deborah L. Larsen Elected Director of Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce
Deborah L. Larsen, senior vice president of commercial banking at UniBank, was elected as a new director for the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce at the annual meeting held on December 8, 2009.
Ms. Larsen has over 25 years of commercial banking experience and has a deep commitment to the Worcester business community. She was recently a guest speaker for the Central Massachusetts Financial Executives Organization, where she discussed trends in commercial banking and was a featured panelist at the Worcester Business Journal breakfast seminar entitled “Survival Strategies for Successfully Navigating Your Way Through a Stormy Economy” in May of 2009. Her article, “Women in Banking,” was recently published in Understanding and Managing Diversity: Readings, Cases, and Exercises, 4th Edition by Carol P. Harvey and M. June Allard. The book is currently used to teach diversity classes at Assumption College, where Ms. Larsen has been a guest speaker.
Ms. Larsen is a longtime board member of the YMCA of Greater Worcester and a past chair of their Annual Youth Support Campaign. She is a member of the executive committee of Paul Revere Toastmasters and has received their Competent Communicator certification. She served on the Sutton School Committee from 1996-2001 and was chairman for two years. She is very active in the First Congregational Church of Sutton where she currently chairs the Stewardship Committee and sings in the choir.
Ms. Larsen earned her Master’s of Business Administration Degree from Assumption College in 2008 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, cum laude from Assumption College in 1990.
